Moorabbin Air Charters operated by Kirkhope Aviation has an upmarket fleet of twin engine piston aircraft and a twin turbine pressurised Super King Air. They are all of a similar “corporate” standard however they have different air speeds, carrying capacities and features. Moorabbin Air Charters works in conjunction with Bendigo Aviation Services to provide a cost effective efficient charter service to the City of Bendigo
All the aircraft are in immaculate condition and suit both corporate charter and private holidaycharters.
The preferred aircraft for corporate work is the KingAir due to it’s comfort, speed and turbine engines. It is a superb aircraft and well suited to corporate charters as it is quick and flies above most weather. The Chieftain and Navajo aircraft are twin piston engines and still provide corporate luxury as they have club seating configuration…although neither are pressurised.
All aircraft are rated for instrument flying which allows departures and arrivals in most weather and at night (assuming the airstrip is suitable). They are flown by experienced commercial pilots with appropriate Class 1 Instrument Ratings. The aircraft are operated under Kirkhope Aviation”s Air Operator Certificate with the required CASA insurance level.

The Beechcraft Model B200 Super King Air VH-ZOK is a twin-engined turboprop corporate travel aircraft with retractable landing gear and pressurized cabin produced by the US-American manufacturer Beech Aircraft Corporation. Not quite as fast as a jet but is more versatile, renowned for its safety, comfort and speed, it can compete with comparable corporate jets at a fraction of the cost. It has been the Royal Flying Doctors preferred aircraft type throughout Australia for decades. It is in corporate club seating with rear loading stairs and an emergency toilet. The Piper Chieftain VH-ZUM is a twin-engined 8 to 9 seat corporate aircraft produced by the US-American manufacturer Piper Aircraft Corporation. It is the pride of our twin piston fleet. It has air conditioning, the latest avionics and club seating which provides plenty of leg room. This club layout makes it ideal with 7 to 8 passengers. Carrying Capacity : 8 – 9 passengers Maximum Cruise Speed : 360 Km/hr
Piper Chieftain VH-RUH Twin-engined ten seat corporate and commuter aircraft produced by the US-American manufacturer Piper Aircraft Corporation. This aircraft has forward facing seats and hence can carry 9 passengers quite comfortably. Carrying Capacity : 8 – 9 passengers Maximum Cruise Speed : 360 Km/hr
Piper Navajo VH-HXN Twin-engined corporate aircraft produced by the US-American manufacturer Piper Aircraft Corporation. This is a slightly smaller version of the Chieftain VH-ZUM. It has airconditioning and also club seating with tables. So it is ideal for the smaller corporate group of say 4 – 5 passengers. Carrying Capacity : 6 – 7 passengers Maximum Cruise Speed : 360 Km/hr

Our Aircraft
Kirkhope Aviation have an upmarket fleet of piston twin engine aircraft and a twin turbine aircraft. They are all of similar “corporate” standard and have different airspeeds, carrying capacities and features. All of the private aircraft for charter are in immaculate condition.
Note: Sometimes the particular aircraft pictured here may not be available for a specific trip. In these situations, a similar twin engine aircraft to that described here will be used. Other aircraft can be seen on the Gallery page or the Business Air charter page.

Comfort and Style
Most aircraft have club seating. The interior is set out in a corporate style ‘club configuration’, which allows four people in the middle of the aircraft to face each other. This is great for clients/passengers that wish to chat or work together whilst travelling in comfort and style.
In all cases entry is via a rear stair door, which allows for easy access for all ages. Most aircraft also have air conditioning which is of great benefit at some of the warmer outback destinations.
The King Air does have a toilet however in this aircraft we encourage its use only for emergencies.
Fantastic Views
The unpressurised aircraft (Navajo and Chieftains) have a maximum cruising altitude of 10,000 feet, however the advantage of travelling at this level is for enjoying the best views of the Australian landscape. They have large windows for every passenger, unlike most commercial aircraft that generally have much smaller windows.
Luggage
Luggage can be loaded in the wing lockers and a forward nose locker in most aircraft. There is also some space for luggage at the rear of the cabin. As the lockers have a low height, bags need to be of the small soft overnight type.
Cases or bags with frames/wheels or hard suitcases are very difficult to stow and can only be done with prior arrangement. We generally limit the luggage to 8 – 9 kg per person but it does depend on the charter. The only aircraft without a large nose locker is the Super KingAir. Nose lockers can normally take larger “rounder “bags, whereas wing lockers are much flatter and need more flexible bags. See videos below of our private charter aircraft.
