The latest on our 2013 holiday air tours

We have taken a number of Tassie Scenic tours and trips to Kangaroo Island so far this year, all of which have been lots of fun with sunshine, warm weather and plenty of outdoor adventure. Now that winter is nearly here, it’s time to push further north, so we have 12 ‘Taste of The Outback’ 3 and 4 day trips coming up over the next few months. These trips take in the Flinders Ranges, The Diamantina, Cooper Creek, Birdsville and the beautiful Lake Eyre, so if this is an area you’ve been wanting to experience, now is the time to book! We also have some longer trips to Cape York and the Kimberley in WA scheduled which are a great way to escape the winter chill.

As always, there are special discounts for early bookings and for groups of seven or more travelers. We also have some special events coming up …see more below

Memories from Pungalina Station

For those of you who were lucky enough to visit our 500,000 acre property in the Gulf and met our partner, bushman Owen Davies, you will enjoy the following. Owen has been out bush again.

He talks to the ABC about his treks from Camoweal in Queensland to Birdsville with goats and dingos in 2012. If you haven’t met Owen….you missed something… so listen to his audio. It is an amazing story. His first book on the Birdsville trip is nearly ready for the Publisher so we will post on our website and social media when it is available for purchase. He is in the process of writing his second book.

KA joy flight giveaway at Kingston Plaza Fete

As part of the Moorabbin Airport Corporation plan to improve the awareness of Moorabbin Airport, a Fete was organised at the Kingston Central Plaza on 20th April. Moorabbin is not well known as an alternative Charter airport and we are trying to change this awareness. Kirkhope Aviation had a small booth and gave away tickets for a raffle of which the first prize was a joy flight. This flight was for the winner and 6 friends for a 35 minute flight over Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay. The winner was drawn and the prize will be taken in the next month or so. Approximately 2000 people attended the fete with stalls, music and entertainment for the kids. Check out our Facebook page for photos from the day which was a great day for the local community at Moorabbin.

Temora Air Show and Mt Hotham

Temora Airshow is on the 18th May and Mt Hotham ski season is approaching fast. The KingAir can get you safely to either of these events in Winter.

Temora is a special event for the aviation enthusiast. On Saturday May the 18th we will be flying the Super KingAir VHZOK to the Temora Airshow. There will be plenty of warbirds and flying displays including the Spitfire, Meteor and Boomerang. We will be travelling there and back in the same day so call us or email if you want to join as there are still some seats available. Visit http://www.aviationmuseum.com.au/news/ for more information.

The Ski season is closing in. Fly to Mt Hotham in 35 minutes. Get your own group together and fly up for a day of skiing.

Exlusive KingAir Kimberley trip

For time sensitive clients Kirkhope Aviation strongly recommends an 8-9 day Kimberley experience which would be flown in the pressurised twin turbine Super KingAir. This would suit an exclusive group of say 7 – 8 people and can be arranged on demand once a date is suggested by the client. This trip would include upmarket outback camps like Kimberley Coastal Camp, Faraway Bay, Mornington Wilderness and the Bungle Bungles.
