Tours completed this year so far

Our 2013 holiday tours are off to a great start with a number of successful trips to Tasmania via Flinders and King Islands. The weather has been kind and we got to all the planned locations. Strahan wilderness and the Gordon River boat cruise plus the Steam Railway tour were highlights. We also did a stunning 6 day trip to Kangaroo Island and Flinders Island. Great sights on Kangaroo with the highlight being the sea lion colony on the beach. A new venture at Flinders was the quad bike riding up Mt Strzlelecki. It was an exhilarating ride with 2 people on each bike. Great views of the southern part of the island and the possibiity to swim on some of the remote beaches. There is a short video on the website and youtube. Prior to the quad bikes we had a successful fishing trip for flathead…great fish.f you have taken some great photos on a Kirkhope Aviation tour, please send them through so we can share them on our Facebook page. Or even better, join us on Facebook, and post your photos to our page.

Upcoming Easter tour

This tour departs on the 29th March. Due to accommodation availabilty we have changed the itinerary to have 2 nights at Kangaroo Island, then lunch at Andamooka Opal fields and the third night at Parachilna hotel on the west side of the Flinders Ranges. The final morning will include a tour into Brachina gorge in the Flinders. Vacancies exist so go to the website to book this tour.

Tours through April to June

We have two more Tassie Bass Strait Islands tours.…one on the 6th April (2 seats available) and one on the 16th April ( 6-8 seats available).
We have one South Australia Discovered tour with the fabulous Gawler Ranges for the 27th April.
We have 5 Taste of the Outback tours through April to June. These are the Birdsville & Lake Eyre trips that have been so popular in the last few years. Lake Eyre is dry and so different to being wet. Many say it is more spectacular than when in flood. See the website for dates and availability.
There is also a 12 day Cape York trip on the 16th April and then a 13 day Kimberley trip on the 8th June…..these all have accommodation and ground tours arranged so don’t miss the chance to come along.

Special KingAir Kimberley suggestion

For those that may be time poor and cannot afford 12 or 13 days away to see the Kimberley, why not consider a shorter 8 – 9 day trip in the KingAir. As it is faster we can cover distance more quickly…..a stunning trip includes Mornington Wilderness Sanctuary, Kimberley Coastal Camp, Faraway Bay, The Bungles and Coober Pedy. The price would be similar per person for the 13 day Kimberley over 9 days. Anyone interested please contact us ASAP.

Discounts

Quite a few have taken up our offer of a 5% discount for trips fully paid two months prior to departure….don’t forget this option….particularly for the Kimberley and Cape York tours in May and June

Our charters

The KingAir and all our Chieftains have been assisting DSE with transport of firefighters throughout Victoria. We have done quite a bit between Bainsdale and Mt Hotham which is still burning. The fire front was quite visible the other night coming back from Sydney. Hopefully they get all the fires under control soon….rain is just starting to fall.

We were also involved in the rescue of the French yachtsman in late January, who lost his mast halfway between Hobart and Antarctica. At very short notice we were requested to re-equip the Hobart based SAR aircraft with additional life-rafts, food, radios etc. Pleased to say that after 3 days and nights his outcome was successful!

We had also just completed a King Air charter for a client where, after arriving in Australia, he wanted to play the best golf courses in Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania and Adelaide. Was a very successful trip and the King Air was a great choice!

Our website changes

We have just revamped our inquiry and booking forms online which will make them simpler to use. There is a holiday tour inquiry form, a charter inquiry form and a form to confirm your booked tour or charter. Any feedback would be appreciated.
